Hi, I'm Nicole. I live in Nassau, the capital of the 700 islands of The Bahamas. I am from a family of artists. My father, Eddie Minnis, is a well known painter and musician. My sister, Roshanne, is also an artist.
Art exhibitions were special occasions for us while growing up. I recall that my sister and I had special pink dresses made by my mother for these occasions. After each exhibit we would discuss in depth the pieces we liked - analyzing the work and determining what we could learn from the artist. My father always instilled in us the importance of doing our best and striving for excellence.
I have developed a real love for the simplicity and unspoiled beauty of Island life, which I try to depict in my paintings. I paint mainly in oils and, like my father, I too incorporate the pallet knife in certain areas of my paintings to add texture and depth .
To enable more people to enjoy and obtain my artwork my family and I have
decided to make reproductions available. Please feel free to explore our website
and get a taste of The Bahamas, our beautiful home.
